Hair coloring confusion..?

i have never dyed my hair before, but i really would like a change.

i have fair skin, chestnut brown hair and blue eyes. a friend of mine suggested that i go darker and recently i was thinking of dying my hair a dark auburn color. i really have no idea lol because i have light skin i don't want to look washed out..

should i go for a rich, deeper brown? .. dark auburn? or any other suggestions would be great =)

I'm sure that would look nice - but just remember that if you go too much darker than your natural tone, you'll get roots and have to maintain regularly or else have to grow it all out. If it's your first time - go to a professional, please don't use the box color!!

I think you should go red.

but if you don't wanna go red dark auburn would look really good

You should go into a salon and explain to them your situation and what you have in mind and they can help with the skin tone part. But they have swatches to look at to get an idea of what your hair would look like after you color you hair.
