Heloo i have very dark brown hair, pale with blue eyes and i want to dye it blonde i thinking of using loreal super blonde prelightener on my hair then putting on a blonde . i would really like to dye my hair at home. has anyone used this product or suggests another.x

It will work...its just hair bleach with a fancy name.....if your hair is really dark you may have to bleach it twice before you color it blond.......and If you do decide to bleach it twice...I suggest just using a toner over the yellow bleach color rather than a hair dye...you can buy toners at Sally's...A blond toner will look a lot more natural than a blond hair dye......Try Champagne Ice or Towhead by Miss Clairol

and dont forget to do your eyebrows so your hair doesn't look to light and fake

First, I don't think you should do it at all -- hair too many shades away from what it is naturally almost always looks cheap, and pretty much 'always' if it didn't have a lot of money spent on it. The colour will never look natural, you'll have obvious roots in days, it'll end up in awful shape from all the bleach and touching-up, and...

If you're hell-bent on going lighter, though, and doing it at home, try highlights. It's not hard to do the cap kind (the paint-on can be a bit riskier to do at home, I think), and you can keep doing it and getting successively blonder without inflicting so much damage.

I'd also go to a beauty supply store, if I lived near one, and ask for their suggestions for good bleach/blonde colour for darker hair.

if you insist on doing it at home, don't expect to get it right the first time. for drastic color changes like you're wanting, the best way to do it is gradually make your hair lighter, then try to go blonde. if you try to go straight to blonde from dark brown, it'll turn out orange. my advice: go to a salon, you'll need professional help with this one.

Light to dark is dying ( adding pigment ), dark to light requires removing / bleaching hair color pigment. Everyone I know who does it looks super tacky in a few weeks because of the roots contrast. Also, the bleaching process leaves most hair looking like old straw because you are REMOVING pigment. Be prepared for constant maintenance. and use lots of conditioner to compensate for the bleaching.

Go to a salon or you risk damaging your hair extensively and ending up with an orange/brassy color that is NOT blonde. You can't just go to a box that says "blonde." You have to lighten it w/ hair bleach.

i would strongly advise you to go to the hair salon i know it is not cheap but i had dark hair and i tried to dye it blonde first it went yellow then green so it is not worth the bother because in the end you end up spending as much on hair dye than it would have cost you to go to the salon for it done properly enyway good luck x
